BIOS Activities on OpenOffice Localization
==============================

Glossary Work
-------------------

Bangla Glossary is a huge task. This is important not only for the OpenOffice, but also Bangla Linux and other softwares' localizations.

BIOS has done almost 80% of the glossary project.

Here is the Unicode converted OpenOffice Glossary. Click the following link to download the entire file...

Bangla Office Applications
-------------------------------------------------

Creation of a free Microsoft Office-compatible word processor, spreadsheet, presentation application, web-browser and e-mail client for Bangla-enabled computer-literacy education in schools and colleges. This will be compliant with the international Unicode standard, which will be built upon to include special Bangla characters (juktakkhors, khondo-ta, etc). Research has already determined that the best strategy will be to base these applications upon the open-source OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org) and Mozilla (www.mozilla.org) software packages. Having a Bangla-enabled free-of-cost suite of office applications i.e. word processor, spreadsheet, email, Internet browser, presentation and paint packages will enable the mass population into power users of the ICT revolution.
